Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree pardoning a number of individuals, including one of the protest movement leaders Maria Kolesnikova, former presidential candidate Viktor Babariko, and the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski. This information was disseminated by the TV channel "Pool Pervogo."
On December 13, a total of 123 people recognized as political prisoners were released in the republic. Among them were citizens of several foreign states: Latvia, the USA, Japan, Poland, and Australia.
Maria Kolesnikova and Viktor Babariko, among the 114 pardoned individuals, were deported to the territory of Ukraine.
