In Novosibirsk, on December 23, early in the morning, law enforcement officers entered the home of Yevgeny Belozerov, a father of many children. He had previously held solo pickets on Red Square, appealing to Vladimir Putin with a request for funds for new housing. As Belozerov himself told the publication "Precedent," officers of the security forces broke a window in his house. The noise woke the man. He, along with his two sons, aged 13 and 10, was restrained and forced to lie face down. The father was taken to a police station but was later released without any charges being filed. Belozerov suggested that his house might have been mistaken for the home of his former neighbors, who belong to the Roma people. The Belozerov family is expecting their ninth child, has lived for many years in a house without a foundation, and is on a waiting list to receive an apartment. Belozerov, with his wife and children, has twice held pickets on Red Square, demanding improved housing conditions for his family.
