The International Olympic Committee has suspended a Ukrainian skeleton athlete due to symbols on his protective helmet. It featured images of fellow athletes whose lives were taken by the war.

Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych was not allowed to start in the first heat of the Olympic Games scheduled for today. This was reported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The committee explained that the basis for the disqualification was the athlete's refusal to follow established recommendations regarding self-expression.
