Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, citing a senior source close to Iran’s leadership, claims that Mojtaba Khamenei, the recently elected Supreme Leader of Iran, was allegedly flown to Moscow for treatment on March 12 aboard a Russian aircraft as part of a “top-secret operation.” On the same day, an EMERCOM special flight arrived in an Azerbaijani city near the Iranian border with humanitarian cargo and then departed back to Moscow, Novaya-Europe found out.
