Iran launched a ballistic missile strike on two Israeli cities

On the evening of March 21, Iran launched a ballistic missile strike on two Israeli cities, Dimona and Arad. The Times of Israel reported this.

About 200 people were injured, 11 of them seriously. Israeli air defenses failed to intercept at least two missiles. Among those seriously wounded were a 12-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl.

The IDF said it was trying to determine why the interceptors failed to shoot down the missiles. “The incident will be investigated,” it said.

Iran said the strike was a response to attacks on its nuclear facilities, including the complex in Natanz.

Near the Israeli city of Dimona is a nuclear research center that opened in 1964. It is considered to play a key role in Israel’s nuclear program, the existence of which the authorities neither confirm nor deny. The IAEA said it had “received no information indicating damage” to the center.
