The Scarlet Swan Telegram channel, which had urged Russians to join rallies on March 29 against internet blocking, was hacked, and posts appeared there calling for financial support for the project. This was reported in the Scarlet Swan channel itself.
A message appeared in the Scarlet Swan chat saying that one of the organizers had sold his account to representatives of Vladislav Pozdnyakov, the founder of Male State. After that, representatives of the movement reported a split, claiming that some organizers, including activist Sofia Chepik, who had earlier been detained in Moscow, began creating clones of the project.
Scarlet Swan is a Telegram channel that appeared on March 14. Its authors said they wanted to organize rallies on March 29 against internet restrictions. The composition of the organization changed repeatedly, and some members of civil society view the initiative with suspicion.
The Telegram channel Nezygar wrote that the movement may be a “simulacrum project” intended to capture the protest energy of young people and steer it into a controlled channel.
