Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov published a video of a meeting with commanders of the republic’s security units. The footage shows, among others, his son Adam.
This is Kadyrov Jr.’s first public appearance since the crash he was involved in in January. In the video, Adam reads out a report mentioning events held during Ramadan. The holy month for Muslims lasted from February 17 to March 19, so the recording was likely made recently.
Adam Kadyrov was involved in a traffic accident in Grozny on January 16. As “Kavkaz.Realii” wrote, he was driving himself and lost control at high speed. The driver of the other car was killed in the crash, “Novaya-Europe” reported.
Kadyrov Jr. was taken to Botkin Hospital in Moscow, where he spent almost three weeks. He was discharged in February, “Novaya-Europe” found out. According to the outlet’s source, Adam suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The source added that the only serious consequence of the crash was damage to the optic nerve.
After the accident, three guards of the Chechen leader’s son also disappeared from public view. At least two of them, Bislan Kaimov and Apti Iraskhanov, were also evacuated to Moscow, and their injuries were significantly more serious than Adam’s. According to the Chechen Telegram channel NIYCO, Kaimov may remain paralyzed for life.
The day after the crash, Ramzan Kadyrov published a video with Adam. It later emerged that the recording had been made several days before the accident. In February, the Chechen leader posted another video with his son, in which he looked noticeably thinner.
