Lavrov says Russia is not giving Iran data on the locations of U.S. military bases

Russia is not passing information to Iran for strikes on U.S. military bases, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with France TV.

According to him, Moscow does indeed have «close relations» with Tehran. In particular, the countries signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation, so Russia supplies its Iranian partners with «certain types of military-purpose products».

«Their coordinates [of U.S. military bases] in the region are known to everyone. This is not being concealed. It is open information. It does not surprise me that Iran is attacking them», the minister said.

In early March, The Washington Post reported that Russia was providing Iran with information to carry out strikes on U.S. military bases in the Middle East. In Tehran, that information was neither confirmed nor denied.

After that, Washington asked Moscow not to pass intelligence to Iran. According to Trump, if Moscow is supporting Iran, it is doing so «not very well, because things are not going very well for Iran».
