Chechen woman Aishat Baimuradova was buried at Nubarashen cemetery in Yerevan. This was reported by a correspondent for Novaya Gazeta Europe.
The slain woman was buried in a closed coffin. About 20 people attended the ceremony. The funeral was organized by the Armenian authorities and took place five months after Baimuradova’s death.

For a long time, the young woman could not be buried because under Armenian law, the body may be handed over only to relatives, who did not respond to requests. Baimuradova’s boyfriend and her friends were ready to arrange the burial, but they were not allowed to do so.
Aishat Baimuradova, 23, left Chechnya for Armenia, where she openly spoke about family problems and domestic violence, ran social media accounts, and argued with supporters of Ramzan Kadyrov.
She was found dead in a rented apartment in Yerevan on October 20, 2025. On the day of the killing, her friend Karina Iminova and 30-year-old Chechen native Said-Khamzat Baisarov were in Baimuradova’s apartment in Yerevan. In Russia, Baisarov had been accused of financing the “Islamic State.” Armenia’s Investigative Committee placed them on the wanted list.
Human rights activists said the suspected killers may have strangled the Chechen woman and fled to Russia. A source cited by Dozhd believes she may have been poisoned.
