Flooding began in Dagestan after heavy rains. This was reported by TASS, Baza, Ostorozhno, Novosti, and Kommersant. There is currently no information about casualties.

In Makhachkala, dozens of homes were flooded, and more than 60,000 people were left without electricity. Roads turned into streams, and cars were submerged. Several dozen people were evacuated. In Derbent, rivers overflowed their banks and flooded roads, while water currents are sweeping away and overturning vehicles.

More than 130 villages were left without electricity, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. Disruptions were recorded in 16 districts of the republic.

Heavy rainfall and strong wind are expected to continue in the region until tomorrow, Interfax reports.
