Ukrainian drones attacked the port in Ust-Luga for the third time in a week. This was reported by Leningrad region Governor Alexander Drozdenko.
According to him, there were no casualties. No further details were provided. The official added that 36 drones were shot down over the region overnight and in the morning.
Previous attacks on the port took place on March 25 and March 27.
Large-scale strikes on the Leningrad region have continued throughout the week. During this time, oil terminals at the ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga, as well as a shipbuilding plant in Vyborg, were hit. The ports stopped shipping oil products.
On March 25, Reuters reported that 40% of Russian oil exports had been suspended after strikes on Primorsk and Ust-Luga. The agency noted that this was the “most serious disruption to shipments in Russia’s modern history,” with Russia considered the world’s second-largest oil exporter.
In total, 203 drones were shot down overnight over Russia and annexed Crimea. Five drones were destroyed on approach to Moscow, with no reports of casualties or damage. In the Belgorod region, one person was killed and another injured when a drone struck a car. In the Samara region, an industrial facility in Tolyatti was attacked and, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
