A district in Tomsk region will eliminate upper secondary grades due to a teacher shortage

All rural and village schools in the Shegarsky district of Tomsk region will be reduced to nine grades because of a shortage of teachers. This was reported by «Ostorozhno, novosti».

Parents are expected to be informed about this at the end of April, when all the necessary documents are ready. The principal of one of the schools confirmed that the decision has already been made. In total, just under 20 thousand people live in the district.

“The question arises: the state calls for increasing the birth rate, while officials consider maintaining schools impractical and costly,” the parents said.
