Members of the public youth chamber under the Tyumen Regional Duma are expelled if they do not want to take part in weaving camouflage nets. This was stated by Andrei Artyukhov, the first vice-speaker of the regional parliament.

According to him, six people were removed from the previous convocation for that reason. Artyukhov added that every week he receives reports on who exactly wove nets for the needs of the “SMO.”

“I take a hard line with those who idle around. If someone does not come to weave nets, we expel them from the public chamber. I always say: what kind of future public political figure are you if you cannot find at least an hour to come to the duma building, to your native duma, and weave nets together with the other ребятами,” the parliamentarian said.

He also urged young people to become volunteers. As an example, Artyukhov mentioned the chairwoman of the previous convocation, who regularly traveled to the occupied territories with “humanitarian missions.”

Artyukhov warned the new chamber members that if they came there “for the credentials,” they would be “out in five seconds.”
