Internet restrictions are causing frustration among big business and officials, including senior ones, Faridaily reports, citing sources.
"Everyone is against [internet shutdowns and blocks], except for one agency," a source told the journalists, referring to the FSB.
At the same time, officials are unhappy with the forced transfer of communications to the national messenger Max.
At the same time, there is said to be almost nothing that can be set against the FSB’s influence, and no one dares to ask Putin for any easing. According to the journalists’ sources, the security services are using the war and manipulating Putin, who has a poor understanding of technology. At the same time, the opinion of the security bloc is decisive for him.
Faridaily’s sources believe that only one factor could influence Putin: a sharp rise in the ratings of parties competing with United Russia ahead of the State Duma elections, primarily the Communist Party. In that case, Kremlin officials responsible for the election results would be able to show Putin those figures and propose slowing the actions of the security services.
At the end of March, the Faridaily project noted that amid a wave of public discontent, Putin cut the number of public events by a quarter and also did not react at all to two major events: communications blocks and the mass slaughter of livestock. Putin refused to comment on the mass shutdowns even at an informal meeting with big business.
