On April 14, a court in Perm Krai ruled to seize a 9-hectare agricultural land plot because it had become overgrown with weeds. This was reported by the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor.

The agency said that at the end of March 2025, authorities carried out an inspection of the owner. It was established that for more than three years the agricultural plot had not been used for its intended purpose and had also become overgrown with weeds and trees.

The owner was ordered to restore the land to proper condition, but ignored the requirement and was fined twice. After that, Rosselkhoznadzor went to court seeking to transfer the land into state ownership and obtained a favorable ruling.

As media note, this is not the only such case. In March, the law on the seizure of abandoned land plots was applied for the first time in Omsk Region. By court decision, 13 garden plots were then transferred into municipal ownership.
