On the morning of April 25, a Ukrainian drone crashed into a residential building in Yekaterinburg, located 2,000 km from the front line.
According to Sverdlovsk Region Governor Denis Pasler, six people were injured, mostly suffering from smoke inhalation, and one woman was hospitalized. Residents of the damaged building were evacuated.
According to Mediazona and E1, the damaged site was the Trinity residential complex on Khokhryakova Street. The drone hit the area around the 25th to 30th floors. Local residents woke up at about 7:15 a.m. because of the loud sound.
🔵 This was the first UAV strike on Yekaterinburg since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. As Echo writes, the city is located almost 2,000 km from the front line.
🔵 It is unknown whether the residential complex was deliberately targeted: there are no obvious military facilities near the building, ASTRA writes. According to readers, the authorities issued no warning about the danger of an incoming UAV.
🔵 The residence of Vladimir Putin’s plenipotentiary representative in the Ural Federal District is located 700 meters from the strike site, journalist Dmitry Kolezev notes. The post is currently held by Artem Zhoga, a prominent participant in the war in Ukraine.
➡️ As previously calculated by Novaya-Europe, since the start of the war, 36,000 military incidents have occurred in the territory of the Russian Federation and occupied Crimea. Of these, 78% were UAV attacks or air defense activity. Another 13% were missile strikes and artillery attacks. Military action has affected at least 60 regions of the country.
According to the map, drones had previously been shot down over Sverdlovsk Region at least twice, in October and November 2025. However, no consequences on the ground were reported at that time.
