On the night of April 30, Perm came under attack by Ukrainian drones for the second time in a week.

Attack details. During the night, a drone danger warning was announced twice. In the morning, sirens continued to sound across the city. Local residents said several explosions were heard early in the morning in the southern part of Perm.

Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin said that Ukrainian drones had attacked “one of the industrial sites” in the region. According to him, there is no threat to the life or health of residents, and there is no chemical hazard either.

Russian and Ukrainian military Telegram channels reported that the strike hit a Transneft oil pipeline reception and pumping station in Perm, as well as the LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez oil refining enterprise (PNOS).

Chemical hazard. Residents of Perm’s Kirovsky district heard a warning about “an accident involving the release of a hazardous chemical substance.” Residents also said they heard announcements of an “air raid alert,” “radiation danger,” “chemical alarm,” “flood threat,” “a cloud of contaminated air,” and “storm warning.”

At the same time, the regional Ministry of Territorial Security claims that this was only a test of the “Chemical Hazard” warning system. The local branch of Rospotrebnadzor said that no exceedances of air quality standards had been recorded.

Nevertheless, classes were canceled today at local universities, and school students were evacuated in the Industrialny district.

Previous attacks. On April 29, Ukrainian drones also attacked the Perm line station of the Transneft oil pipeline. Residents reported oily rain and black smoke over the city.
