Aleksandr Gavrilov, the general director of the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant, JSC Krasmash, has been detained by security forces. This was reported by city council deputy Ivan Petrov; the information was later confirmed by sources cited by NGS24, RIA Novosti, and TASS.

According to a source speaking to RIA Novosti, Gavrilov was placed in a Krasnoyarsk pre-trial detention center in late April. At the same time, a TASS source said he was detained in early May. Petrov also wrote that officers from the Investigative Committee have been carrying out investigative actions at the plant for the past two weeks.

Petrov says Gavrilov is suspected of accepting a bribe of three million rubles. Sources cited by TASS and RIA Novosti, for their part, confirm that a case has been opened against the Krasmash chief executive under an article covering embezzlement. The media outlets gave no further details.

The Investigative Committee said it had no information about Gavrilov’s detention. Krasmash itself declined to comment.
