On June 14, security forces detained Bogdan Bukharin, the editor-in-chief of the Telegram channel Yashcheritsa, at Yekaterinburg’s Severny railway station. 7x7 reported this.

Persecution. Bukharin currently faces two administrative protocols under the article on displaying extremist symbols — a third could lead to a criminal case. The reason was two news posts mentioning FBK and RDK. They were published on the Yashcheritsa channel in May and June 2026. Both posts included the logos of these organizations, which are recognized in Russia as “extremist.”

Seizure of accounts. Soon afterward, Bukharin said that following his detention, his channel had been seized by security forces, and all accounts, email, and equipment were lost.

Bukharin is now free, but his friend Andrei has disappeared. According to the journalist, Andrei was not connected to Yashcheritsa and had never been involved in politics. His phone and computer were confiscated. Bukharin advised readers to delete all messages they had left in the stolen channels.

“I do not renounce my beliefs. I consider Vladimir Putin’s policy harmful to Russia. A thief and murderer, as befits a thief and murderer, should be in prison,” he wrote.

Context. As 7x7 notes, Bogdan Bukharin anonymously ran the channels Yashcheritsa (with posts about protests, drone attacks, and general political news) and Oppozitsioner (a channel with memes and personal opinion). In late May 2026, the activist said that he had been beaten twice in one day: first by a police officer, then by a pro-war individual.
