American musician and producer Oliver Tree died in a collision between two helicopters in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area in southwestern Rio de Janeiro. CNN Brazil reported this, citing police.
According to the outlet, five people were aboard one of the helicopters, while the other carried only the pilot. Argentine YouTube blogger Gaspar Prima and Brazilian house DJ Lucas Frota were in the helicopter with Oliver Tree. They also died.
After the collision, the helicopters crashed onto an electric vehicle parking lot. At least 20 cars caught fire as a result. Rescue teams are working at the scene. The causes of the tragedy have not been disclosed. Police have launched an investigation.
Oliver Tree was an American singer, producer, and comedian. He was best known for the songs When I’m Down and Life Goes On. He was in Rio de Janeiro as part of a world tour. He was 32 years old.
