Attack on Israel. Today, the Israel Defense Forces reported that several drones fell on Israeli territory near the border with Lebanon. One of them fell close to residential buildings near the settlement of Shlomi. The drones were allegedly launched by Hezbollah fighters. Air raid sirens sounded in the border areas.

Attack on Lebanon. In response, the Israeli military struck a Hezbollah command center in Dahiyeh, a suburb of Beirut. The IDF published a video showing an explosion in a building located, allegedly, in a residential neighborhood. Lebanon’s state news agency reported one dead and four wounded as a result of the strike.

"The IDF is currently striking Hezbollah terrorist targets in the Dahieh area of Beirut, in response to Hezbollah’s shelling of Israeli territory. Israel will not tolerate shelling of its territory," a joint statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said.

Ceasefire. In early June, Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire on the condition that Hezbollah be disarmed. Despite this, shelling continued because official Beirut does not control Hezbollah’s actions. After one such exchange, tensions escalated in the Middle East, with Iran and Israel trading missile strikes.

According to Israeli public broadcaster Kan, the IDF may halt its offensive in southern Lebanon amid the agreement being negotiated by the United States and Iran. At the same time, a withdrawal of Israeli troops from the security zone is not yet planned.

Iran deal. US President Donald Trump said he intends to sign a peace agreement with Iran as early as today, on his 80th birthday. At the same time, Iran’s Fars news agency, which is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that Iranian negotiators are unlikely to allow such "media and ceremonial maneuvers."
