All passenger transport on the Novorossiya highway halted in the "LPR"

From June 6, all passenger transportation on the Novorossiya highway linking Crimea and Rostov-on-Don through occupied territories was banned in the "LPR." The occupation authorities announced the measure.

The ban applies to passenger transportation on sections of the R-150 Belgorod — Starobilsk — Luhansk — Donetsk — Mariupol road and the R-280 "Novorossiya" Rostov-on-Don — Mariupol — Melitopol — Simferopol road.

Residents are also advised to avoid traveling along these routes. Domestic bus services will continue, although in some cases their routes will be changed.

In addition, the transportation of groups of children is banned throughout the territory of the LPR, except for events organized by the local "ministry of education and science." Suburban train traffic will be determined by the regional "ministry of transport."

🔵 On May 21, Russian authorities had already imposed restrictions on truck traffic along the Novorossiya highway. Exceptions were made only for military and special cargo, medicines, equipment, fuel, food, and socially significant goods.

🔵 In May, the Ukrainian army began carrying out mass strikes with new "smart" drones on fuel tankers and other trucks supplying the annexed peninsula via the Novorossiya highway. Hundreds of vehicles have already been hit, even though the area is more than 100 kilometers from the front line. Fuel deliveries to the region via the Crimean Bridge have been limited since the terrorist attack in October 2022, so the overland route has effectively become the only alternative. This has triggered a fuel crisis in Crimea, which continues to worsen.
