This year, the business program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) includes roundtables and discussions on demography, religion, geopolitics, cyberwars, and the future of Europe. Novaya-Europe drew attention to this after studying the forum program.
Church and family. Among the announced sessions:
• "Entrepreneurship as Service";
• "Religion and Economics: Common Goal-Setting, Potential for Interaction" (moderated by St. Petersburg State University Rector Nikolai Kropachev);
• "Big Family, Big Reach. New Demography and Narratives for Media Managers" (participants include conspiracy theorist Candace Owens, TV host Yulia Baranovskaya, producer Artem Mikhalkov);
• "The Gold Standard of Corporate Demography" (participants include Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim and Federation Council Chair Valentina Matviyenko).
Cyberwars. A separate section of the program is devoted to digital sovereignty and cybersecurity. The forum plans to discuss:
• "Turnkey Digital Sovereignty" (guests include Cuba's Deputy Communications Minister Ernesto Rodriguez Hernandez),
• "The Digital Resilience of the Economy in an Era of Global Cyberconflicts";
• "Stress Test in Real Time: How Not to Lose Billions During a Cyberattack".
Fascism. One of the most unusual events will be the panel "The Kidnapping of Europe: Unlearned Lessons of History. What Future Have Europeans Stolen From Themselves and the Next Generations?" It is intended to discuss the "systemic crisis" of EU countries, where, it is claimed, "historical memory is being destroyed," there is a "substitution of concepts," and a "rewriting of history" is underway.
"Present-day Germany and its allies under the current leaders are rapidly degenerating into a likeness of the Fourth Reich. <...> The question is how much longer the world will watch as the European 'ship going to the bottom' drags down not only its own crew, but also everyone who happened to be nearby," the event description says.
Panel participants will include Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova, former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, as well as propagandists Alexey Gromyko, Andrey Klimov, and Alexey Pushkov.
What to expect from SPIEF. Among the foreign guests at the conference, apparently, will be:
• former U.S. Marine Scott Ritter, convicted on charges of corrupting a minor;
• Jorg Urban, head of the Saxony branch of the right-wing party Alternative for Germany;
• misogynist blogger Andrew Tate, who previously competed in kickboxing.
In addition, Putin's daughters, Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova, are expected to appear at the event.
Tikhonova will take part in the discussion "The Engineering Code of the Nation: Restore It or Write It Anew?", and Vorontsova will moderate the discussion "Professional Guidance and Mentorship in Medicine. Experience, Best Practices, Future".
