The conversation with Alla Pugacheva took place at a villa in Jurmala that her family rents for the holiday period. From the outset, the interview had a calm, intimate tone, without any deliberate grandiosity.
The singer stressed that luxury has never been important to her. She said that what matters far more is the health of her children, her husband, and happiness within the family. Speaking about age, Pugacheva used humor:
“My legs may shake, but my hands do not.”
She said she agreed to the interview mainly for the sake of her children. Pugacheva explained that she wanted to leave them a “document of the era” and tell the truth about their mother and father. She added that she has people to live for and a purpose in life, and that she feels happy. At the same time, the singer noted that some people may not like hearing that, but she is satisfied with her life.
Katerina Gordeeva, for her part, admitted that the interview would inevitably be somewhat biased because she has long been an admirer of the singer. At the same time, the journalist asked her guest to answer honestly. Pugacheva immediately agreed and replied:
“Katya, when have I ever answered dishonestly? In any image, one must remain an honest person.”
Pugacheva also described in detail how she came to the decision to leave Russia. She said that after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, she had not planned to leave the country. However, rumors then appeared online claiming that she had already fled, and after a conversation with Sergei Kiriyenko, she realized that leaving was the only right decision.
According to Pugacheva, Sergei Kiriyenko, the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, met with her soon after her husband, Maxim Galkin, posted his first anti-war address to his audience on social media. As the singer recounted, Kiriyenko told her that Galkin was allowing himself to speak too freely.
