Russia’s Justice Ministry has updated the register of so-called “foreign agents.” The new list includes former Mediazona journalist Pyotr Ruzavin.
The register was also expanded to include former political prisoner Ksenia Fadeyeva, artist Ekaterina Kuznetsova, and Sfera, a project that helps queer people.
According to the ministry, Kuznetsova, Fadeyeva, and Ruzavin spoke out against the “special military operation” and criticized decisions made by the Russian authorities.
In Ruzavin’s case, the ministry separately claimed that he had allegedly “called for support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
Regarding the Sfera project, the ministry said that, in officials’ view, it “promotes” LGBT relationships and interacts with people and organizations that have been designated as “foreign agents.”
According to the Justice Ministry, Kuznetsova, Fadeyeva, and Ruzavin opposed the “special military operation” and criticized decisions by the Russian authorities.
The updated register was published on June 19, 2026, as Russian authorities continue to broaden the list to include journalists, activists, cultural figures, and civic initiatives.
