Sobyanin says Moscow faced another massive drone attack

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that on June 19, Ukrainian forces launched what he described as another “massive attack” on the capital.

According to figures he gave as of 18:18, air defense systems “on the near approach alone” destroyed 76 drones heading toward the city.

Sobyanin said the attack caused no damage and no injuries.

Previous attack

During the night and morning of June 18, Moscow and the surrounding region had already been attacked by nearly 200 Ukrainian drones. It was described as the largest strike on the capital region since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to reports, an oil refinery caught fire in Kapotnya. Drones also fell on the Sadovod market and the Mega Belaya Dacha shopping center.

Residential buildings in the Moscow region were damaged. Local authorities said that 17 people were injured in that earlier attack.
