On the morning of June 21, fuel sales to the public were completely halted at gas stations across Crimea, according to Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-appointed “head” of the annexed peninsula. He said gasoline would be supplied only to state services and did not specify how long the restrictions would remain in place.
The announcement came after a large-scale Ukrainian attack on Crimea. Aksyonov said the strikes left four people dead and 28 others injured.
According to Exilenova+ and ASTRA, the targets included an oil depot and the Port Kavkaz facility. A multi-story residential building in Kerch was also damaged.
The operational headquarters of Russia’s Krasnodar region said one person was killed and another was injured in a strike on the Kerch ferry crossing in the Temryuk district. Ferry traffic was suspended temporarily afterward.
A fire also broke out at an oil terminal in the settlement of Chushka. In two localities, drone debris fell onto private residential properties.
Other overnight attacks
- Poltava region: Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said two people were killed and 14 injured, including six children. Regional military administration head Vitaliy Diakovnych said the strikes hit two businesses, nearby homes, and cars.
- Zaporizhzhia region: the State Emergency Service reported five dead and 12 injured after Russian airstrikes. Damage was reported to 12 apartment buildings, a social infrastructure site, private homes, and vehicles.
- Dnipropetrovsk region: regional administration head Oleksandr Hanzha said one person was killed and nine were injured. Apartment buildings, private homes, a lyceum, a gymnasium, and cars were damaged.
- Sumy region: according to regional administration head Oleh Hryhorov, six people were injured in a Russian drone attack, and at least five homes were damaged.
