During the night of June 21, Ukrainian drones struck the Panagia ferry at the Kerch ferry crossing. According to the operational headquarters of Russia’s Krasnodar region, one person was killed and another was injured.
After the strike, ferry service across the Kerch crossing was temporarily suspended. The headquarters advised truck drivers to use the R-280 route via Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, Mariupol, Melitopol, and Simferopol.
The headquarters also said a fuel terminal caught fire in the settlement of Chushka in Krasnodar region’s Temryuk district. In addition, drone debris fell in two other districts, damaging residential houses in the village of Fastovetskaya in Tikhoretsk district and the village of Uspenskaya in Beloglinsky district. Authorities said there were no casualties there.
Separately, reports said the Kerch Peninsula, the eastern part of Crimea, was also attacked. Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-installed head of Crimea, said four people were killed and 28 were wounded. He gave no further details.
Ukrainian Telegram channels reported that the targets were Port Kavkaz on the Russian shore and the seaport in Kerch. Monitoring channels said the fire site in Kerch was less than a kilometer from the Crimean Bridge. The Telegram channel Astra, after examining photographs, reported that a multi-story residential building in Kerch had been damaged.
The Russian Defense Ministry said air defenses destroyed 239 Ukrainian drones overnight over eight regions in southern and central Russia, as well as over occupied Crimea.
