Residents of a village in the Rostov region celebrated the repair of the main street road

Residents of Sandata, a village in the Salsky district of the Rostov region, held a celebration after repairs were completed on the road along the main street. Footage from the event was published by local media outlets.

According to journalists, people in Sandata had spent more than ten years seeking repairs to the road on Mira Street. They appealed to village and district authorities, sent letters, collected signatures, and took part in community meetings.

Local media reported that about three years ago officials promised to find funding for the project. In the end, in 2026 road workers laid asphalt on Mira Street and also began repairing two neighboring lanes.

According to local media, the cost of the work was about 12 million rubles.

Residents marked the completion of the repairs with a festive gathering featuring food and dancing. They also drew a hopscotch grid on the new road surface and began jumping on it.

Several people at the celebration also lined up holding sheets of paper with letters that together spelled the word “road”.
