Three merchant vessels bound for ports in Odesa region were hit by drone attacks; an Egyptian citizen was killed

On the night of June 22, three merchant vessels in the Black Sea heading to ports in Odesa region came under drone attack. This was reported by regional administration head Oleg Kiper.

According to local authorities, one of the targeted ships was a cargo vessel sailing under the Panama flag. A fire broke out on board after the strike, and the crew was evacuated.

Kiper said that one crew member was killed in the attack: an Egyptian citizen who worked on the vessel as a cook.

The Ukrainian Navy later уточнил that citizens of Egypt, Turkey, and India were on board the cargo ship.

According to the Ukrainian side, two other vessels were also attacked, sailing under the flags of Palau and Belize. No casualties were reported on those ships.

The information about the attack was provided by the authorities of Odesa region and the Ukrainian Navy.
