During the night of June 24, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck several sites in annexed Crimea as well as in the Nizhny Novgorod and Orenburg regions. The reported targets included an electrical substation and a thermal power plant in Crimea, a gas processing plant near Orenburg, and apparently an industrial facility in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Sevastopol and Simferopol
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed head of Sevastopol, said the attack caused a power outage in the annexed city. He said two people were injured. He later added that electricity had already been restored in some districts and settlements.
The Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported that the strike caused a fire at Sevastopol’s key substation. In Simferopol, a fire broke out at a thermal power plant as a result of the overnight attack, according to Astra. The local Russian-installed authorities had not commented on that information at the time of publication.
Nizhny Novgorod region
Governor Gleb Nikitin said that two people were killed and two others were injured in the attack on the region. According to him, an unnamed industrial facility, several cars, and residential buildings were damaged.
According to Astra, a private house caught fire in the Kstovsky district, about one kilometer from the Elektrokabel NN plant. Local residents said the drones were flying toward the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, which had been attacked before.
Orenburg
Mediazona, citing satellite images from NASA FIRMS, reported that the Gazprom Pererabotka gas processing plant near Orenburg was hit. Governor Yevgeny Solntsev said Ukrainian drones had been shot down in the morning over an unnamed industrial enterprise. He did not report on the consequences of the attack or any possible casualties.
