Russian comedian and performer Semyon Slepakov has released the musical parody “Little War”, set to the tune of “Little Country” by Natasha Korolyova.
In the new song, he criticizes the decision to launch a “small victorious war” against Ukraine. Vladimir Putin is not named directly in the lyrics, but the reference is clear from the context. The song says the Kremlin expected the war to end “in three days,” but that did not happen.
Slepakov portrays the full-scale war as now entering its fifth year. According to the song’s сюжет, shelling and drone attacks are harming not only people in Ukraine but also people in Russia, while strikes in Russian regions have triggered a fuel crisis. At the same time, the song’s easily identifiable central figure is hiding from Ukrainian drones and does not want to stop the fighting.
At the time of publication, the song had collected more than 60,000 likes on the artist’s Instagram in just four hours after being posted.
“In three days it will be successfully over. Drones are flying over the capital, the whole country is in shock. This little war has already lasted almost five long years.”
In another part of the lyrics, Slepakov links the situation to rising prices and to the authorities’ focus on protecting themselves above all else.
“The price of gasoline is rising, but the main thing is not the country. The main thing is that one ass in it is securely protected.”
