On June 26, another major traffic jam formed at the Crimean Bridge. According to a Telegram channel tracking the situation at the crossing, by midday 1,850 vehicles were queued on the Kerch side heading toward Kuban, with waiting times of about five hours.
On the Krasnodar Territory side, another 250 cars were reportedly stuck in traffic. By 1:00 p.m., the number of vehicles waiting on the Crimea side had risen to 2,100.
Before that, traffic on the bridge had been completely halted overnight. The restriction was in force from midnight until 6:00 a.m.
The previous evening, the outlet ASTRA reported that the line of cars before the bridge on the Crimea side had stretched for about 15 kilometers.
Emergency regime and the regional situation
Meanwhile, a regional state of emergency has been introduced in Crimea and Sevastopol. Kremlin-appointed heads of the annexed territories said the measure was needed to “streamline economic issues.”
Amid recent events, peninsula residents, the article says, have been facing gasoline shortages, interruptions in water and electricity supplies, a lack of rail service, and shortages of some goods. Sevastopol “governor” Mikhail Razvozhayev has limited the operation of supermarkets, shopping centers, and catering establishments.
According to the report, hotel bookings for July-August in Sevastopol fell 43% year on year, while in Crimea they dropped 31%. The number of cancellations over the year increased by 79% and 88% respectively.
