The Security Service of Ukraine said on June 27 that Ukrainian drones had attacked the Vtorovo oil pumping station in Russia’s Vladimir region for the second time this month.
According to the Ukrainian agency, the drones hit a technical building at the site, after which an explosion occurred. The SBU did not provide photos or video that would confirm the reported strike.
The authorities of the Vladimir region did not comment on the incident.
Data from FIRMS, the satellite fire-monitoring system operated by NASA, show no fires in the immediate area of the station. At the same time, the service recorded a fire about 10 kilometers from the facility.
The Vtorovo station belongs to Transneft-Upper Volga. The SBU described it as an important logistics hub used to transfer light petroleum products to export ports and domestic consumers. Fuel supplied through the station also reaches Moscow.
The previous attack on the site, according to the SBU, took place on June 10. Ukraine regularly reports strikes on oil infrastructure inside Russia. Against that backdrop, residents in a number of Russian regions have complained about gasoline shortages.
