On the night of June 28, Ukraine carried out long-range strikes on two oil refineries in Russia, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said the targets were located in Krasnodar Krai and Yaroslavl Region.
“We are continuing our operations that weaken Russia’s ability to wage this war. Every one of our long-range sanctions means fewer resources serving the Russian war machine and one more step toward peace,” Zelensky wrote.
Regional authorities had earlier reported a fire at the refinery in Slavyansk-na-Kubani after a Ukrainian drone attack during the night of June 28.
At the same time, no strike on a refinery in Yaroslavl had been reported before Zelensky’s statement.
Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Evraev wrote that night about a drone alert in the region. He later said traffic had been blocked on the outbound road toward Moscow, although the road was reopened soon afterward.
Evraev did not report any consequences of the drone attack in Yaroslavl Region.
