Oil refinery catches fire in Kuban after drone attack; one person killed

In Slavyansk-on-Kuban, an oil refinery caught fire after an attack by Ukrainian drones, according to regional authorities.

Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that one person was killed in the strike. He added that there was also an injured person in Trudobelikovsky, a nearby rural settlement next to Slavyansk-on-Kuban.

Separately, Volodymyr Zelensky reported an attack on a refinery in the Yaroslavl region. The authorities in that region have not confirmed that information.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said that during the night of June 28, 2026, and into the morning, air defense forces had shot down more than 200 Ukrainian drones.

No further details were provided in the published report about the extent of damage at the plant in Slavyansk-on-Kuban or about the condition of the injured person in Trudobelikovsky.
