A message claiming a breach briefly appeared on the website of the Alabuga special economic zone in Tatarstan, where attack drones are produced. The outlet The Insider drew attention to it after finding an archived copy of the page dated June 27.
The text was posted in the name of the underground group Black Spark. Its authors claimed they had penetrated the facility where Geran-2 and Geran-3 drones are assembled and had remained inside the system for several months.
According to the statement, the unknown actors allegedly obtained a database of employees, information about their relatives and places of residence, as well as details on logistics and supply chains. They also said they had left “hundreds of surprises” in drone batches.
There is no independent confirmation of those claims. Representatives of Alabuga have not publicly commented. The zone’s website is now operating normally again.
Context
The Alabuga SEZ is located in the Yelabuga district of Tatarstan. Before the start of the full-scale war, the site developed as an industrial zone with foreign residents and its own educational projects. It was later repurposed toward defense contracts.
Production of Shahed-type drones was deployed on the territory of Alabuga; in Russia they are referred to as Geran-2 and are used in attacks on Ukraine. According to journalists and human rights advocates, students from the Alabuga Polytech project were recruited to work at the facility.
