Polish authorities detained and deported nine Ukrainian citizens and two Belarusian citizens. They are suspected of organizing protest actions with funds that, according to the Polish side, came from Russia.
The detentions took place over the past few days in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow, Zakopane, and Bydgoszcz. The information was reported by Poland’s Internal Security Agency, ABW.
According to ABW, the detainees “had ties to Russia and Belarus.”
The Polish security service says that since autumn 2025, the detainees had been recruiting Ukrainian refugees living in Poland to take part in political actions directed against the Ukrainian authorities.
According to ABW’s account, the organizers used high-profile topics for these protests, including corruption scandals in Ukraine. Participants were allegedly paid for attending, and the money for that purpose was said to have come from Russia.
Polish authorities believe the organizers were trying to use refugees to heighten social tensions and undermine trust in the authorities. In Russia, ABW’s statement had not been commented on at the time of publication.
