Adam Kadyrov, the son of the head of Chechnya, posted a video in which he is seen committing several traffic violations while driving a Range Rover. The clip was spotted by Verstka on one of the Instagram accounts linked to the younger Kadyrov.
The video lasts 13 seconds. At first, Kadyrov films the road from a first-person perspective, then turns the camera toward himself and a passenger, and then points it back at the roadway.
The footage shows that at the start of the clip the vehicle is already moving along a double solid line, and by the end it is almost entirely in the oncoming lane. This is considered a serious traffic offense and may lead to loss of driving privileges.
The recording also shows speeding: the speedometer reads 112 km/h, while a road sign with a 50 km/h limit is visible in the frame. As the report notes, this may fall under an article of the administrative code that provides for license suspension for four to six months.
The video further shows Kadyrov using a phone while driving, an offense punishable by a fine.
Less than six months ago, Adam Kadyrov was also involved in a traffic crash in Grozny. According to media reports, he was driving the first car in a motorcade, ran a red light, and collided with another vehicle. Novaya Gazeta Europe previously reported that the driver of the car struck by the motorcade died, and that the crash itself was not registered by law enforcement authorities.
