Moscow’s Savyolovsky Court changed the preventive measure for Stanislav Multakh, генеральный director of the Lavna seaport in Murmansk. Instead of remaining in pretrial detention, he was placed under house arrest.
The court also reduced the severity of the charge against him. Multakh had previously been accused of embezzlement, an offense punishable by up to ten years in prison. The accusation has now been reclassified as abuse of official powers, which carries a maximum sentence of four years’ imprisonment.
The earlier court ruling had been appealed, after which both the preventive measure and the legal qualification of the charge were revised.
Connection to another case
Earlier, a Moscow court sent former head of Russia’s civil aviation agency Alexander Neradko to pretrial detention, along with his former deputy Konstantin Makhov, who now works as a manager in structures linked to Arkady Rotenberg.
The official reason given for those arrests was alleged theft during construction of a runway in Domodedovo. In addition to Neradko and Makhov, the case was also opened against Multakh and the head of the Investment Projects Directorate at the State Transport Leasing Company.
According to the report, Multakh, like Makhov, is involved in managing Arkady Rotenberg’s business structures. No official details of the case against Multakh have been disclosed.
