The Open Alabuga website has appeared online, publishing personal data of more than 6,000 people. According to the site’s authors, all of them are connected to the Alabuga special economic zone, where Russian military drones are assembled. Sota drew attention to the publication.
A Telegram channel linked to the site was reportedly created on July 8. The unknown publishers say the database contains information on “people who work or have ever worked on the modernization and assembly of Shaheds,” including those who, in their words, “did internships or simply washed floors in the workshops.”
“People involved in the production of Gerans are accomplices to international war crimes and will face just punishment,” the website says.
At the time of publication, Russian authorities, law enforcement agencies, and the management of Alabuga had not commented on the reported leak.
Earlier hacking claim
At the end of June, a message about a hack had already appeared on Alabuga’s website. At that time, unknown actors claimed they had obtained the employee database and information on supply chains. The page said that a group called Black Spark had allegedly penetrated the production of Geran-2 and Geran-3 UAVs and operated inside the system for several months.
The authors of that message said they had downloaded the employee database, information about relatives, places of residence, and supply chain data. They also claimed to have left “hundreds of surprises” in batches of drones.
Context
The Alabuga special economic zone is located in the Yelabuga district of Tatarstan. Before the start of the full-scale war, it developed as an industrial site with foreign residents and its own educational project, but it was later repurposed for defense orders. Production of Shahed-type drones, known in Russia as Geran-2 and used in attacks on Ukraine, was deployed there. According to journalists and human rights defenders, students from Alabuga Polytech were recruited to work at the facility.
