Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of the Leningrad Region, ordered restrictions on refueling official service vehicles. Under his decision, officials will face the same fuel limits as other residents of the region.
The governor said that when authorities ask the public to treat temporary fuel difficulties with understanding, the government itself should follow the same rules.
“No exceptions. This is enough to handle current tasks, and if something is lacking, video communication has not been canceled. There will be no unnecessary trips,” Drozdenko said.
In St. Petersburg, according to sources cited by the outlet Rotonda, no special restrictions were introduced for officials. There, service cars are refueled in the usual way at Rosneft gas stations. At the same time, a journalist for the outlet said a hotline operator told them that such vehicles should be allowed through without waiting in line.
In the Leningrad Region itself, fuel-sale limits are being set by gas station chains, Mediazona reported. For example, at the end of June, Lukoil stations were selling no more than 30 liters per customer.
Fuel sales restrictions in Russia began to appear amid a broader fuel crisis. According to the source, the situation worsened after Ukrainian drones struck Russian oil facilities. Earlier, Meduza, citing exchange trading data, estimated the scale of the crisis this way: prices rose by 40 percent, while sales volumes fell by 40 percent.
