Gleb Viktorov, the frontman of the rock band Tri Dnya Dozhdya, is undergoing inpatient treatment after a concert in Yekaterinburg where he made political and anti-war remarks. The band’s management announced this in a statement.
The group said that, in its view, what happened at the concert “cannot be justified.” Management apologized to the audience for the artist appearing on stage “in that condition” and linked the incident to the “irresponsible work of security,” which allegedly allowed outsiders into the dressing room.
According to the band’s representatives, those people, whose identities were not disclosed, supposedly exploited the artist’s past addiction and “slipped him or gave him banned substances.” The statement added that information about them had been passed to the police.
The group’s representatives said that everything the artist did and said on stage was “unconscious delirium,” after which the concert was stopped and the musician was urgently sent to Moscow to his parents and then for treatment.
During the July 12 performance in Yekaterinburg, Viktorov made several political and anti-war statements. In particular, he said that people he grew up with were dying and that what was happening was not being called a war but rather labeled a “special military operation.” He also urged the audience to go to the polls and vote for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Later, a message appeared on the band’s Telegram channel in which Viktorov said he had left Russia. That post was removed shortly afterward.
