As a result of a Russian strike on Odesa, three people were killed and three others were injured, according to Serhiy Lysak, the head of the city administration. He said the wounded were taken to hospitals and were in moderate condition.
The official did not provide further details of the attack. Posts on his Telegram channel indicate that Russian forces carried out several strikes on the city beginning on the evening of July 14.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, one of the strikes hit civilian infrastructure. A warehouse belonging to an enterprise was destroyed and a fire broke out. Two cargo trucks were also damaged.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that during the night of July 15, Russian forces launched missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian ports which, it said, were being used to deliver cargo for the Ukrainian armed forces. According to the ministry, the targets were the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk in Odesa region. The Russian side claimed that infrastructure, fuel tanks, and drone production workshops were damaged there.
The ministry also said Russian forces struck four cargo vessels in the ports of Chornomorsk and Dnieper-Bugsky. For its part, the command of the Ukrainian Air Force said that two missiles and 122 drones of various types were launched at Ukraine in total, and that air defenses shot down 101 drones.
Authorities also reported consequences of the strikes in other parts of Ukraine. In Chernihiv region, one person was killed, a residential building and a car were damaged, and a fire broke out on the grounds of an enterprise. In Dnipropetrovsk region, three districts came under attack and one person was injured. In Zhytomyr region, a gas station was hit and two people were hurt. In the city of Ochakiv in Mykolaiv region, nine people were injured in an MLRS strike. In Sumy, local authorities said seven people were injured and homes were damaged after shelling with a multiple launch rocket system.
