Kerch was left completely without electricity after a nighttime drone attack

Kerch, in the eastern part of Crimea annexed by Russia, was left completely without electricity after a Ukrainian drone attack on the night of July 15. This was reported by Ivan Koshel, the Moscow-appointed head of the city administration.

According to him, the city’s “life-support services” are continuing to operate using backup power sources.

The press service of Krymenergo said that after the drone attack, part of the peninsula’s Northwestern and Eastern districts was also left without electricity.

In addition to the power disruptions, water supply in Crimea was restricted as well. A local operator said this was caused by a network accident. Repair work is underway, according to the operator.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has been using drones to strike energy infrastructure facilities in annexed Crimea, as well as in the Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine’s Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

A day earlier, on July 14, rolling blackouts were introduced in Sevastopol after Ukrainian drone attacks.
