On July 15, users in Russia reported disruptions affecting T-Bank. According to Downdetector, the service recorded 1,700 complaints within a single hour.
Comments posted on the platform Sboy.rf also described problems accessing the mobile app and difficulties with money transfers through the bank.
“The money isn’t coming through, I’m dying of thirst, and now I’m stuck at work without water,” one commenter wrote.
T-Bank’s press service told TASS that the outage had already been resolved by 12:05 p.m. Moscow time. The credit institution did not explain what caused the disruption.
The outlet notes that in early April, Russia experienced a major outage affecting banking apps and online services. For several hours, users were unable to transfer money, withdraw cash, or pay for purchases by card.
The disruption also affected the Fast Payments System. Cybersecurity experts suggested at the time that the problems could have been linked to further attempts by the authorities to restrict certain services, including Telegram and tools used to bypass blocks.
After that incident, Roskomnadzor sent notices to several media outlets that had reported a possible connection between the outage and blocking attempts, ordering them to remove that information. Natalya Kasperskaya also linked the banking problems to Roskomnadzor’s attempts to block VPN services, but later apologized after speaking with the agency’s head.
