A court in the Kemerovo region sentenced a 17-year-old resident of Belovo to four years in a juvenile penal colony in a case on financing terrorism. The information was reported by the Investigative Committee’s Kuzbass branch.
The teenager was found guilty under Article 205.1, Part 1.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers terrorism financing. According to investigators, the case concerns transfers allegedly made in late 2025.
Law enforcement officials say that from November to December 2025 the young man provided financial support to an unnamed organization banned in Russia. Investigators claim the money was sent through his account in a messenger app by using the reaction function under posts in a channel.
After the teenager was detained last spring, the outlet NGS 42, citing its sources, reported that the case involved reactions left in the Telegram channel of one of the Ukrainian army’s units. That detail was not included in the official statement from investigators.
During the investigation, the minor was kept under house arrest. It is unknown whether he admitted guilt.
