Higher School of Economics said that applicants who sign a “special contract” through the university with BARS units or with the unmanned systems troops will be able to receive free education after completing their service.
According to the university’s website, study for such applicants in bachelor’s and master’s programs will be funded by HSE after the contract ends.
To do this, the university said, a person must submit an application “under the established procedure.” The statement also says that this option may suit applicants who fell short of admission to state-funded places by only a few points.
HSE management told a correspondent from Ostorozhno, Novosti that in order to enroll in the chosen program, a person must serve for one year.
In effect, the proposed arrangement requires applicants to first sign the contract and complete a year of service, and only then gain the opportunity to study at the university free of charge at HSE’s expense.
