Moscow’s Basmanny District Court has placed pro-Kremlin blogger Ilya Remeslo in custody for 1 month and 30 days. The information was reported by his lawyer, Sergey Badamshin.
What the case is about
According to the defense, Remeslo is accused under the article on “military fakes”. Badamshin said the basis for the prosecution was a manifesto written by the blogger that criticized Vladimir Putin.
Remeslo’s detention became known on the morning of July 17, 2026. Several media outlets published video showing security officers forcing the blogger face down on the floor during the arrest.
Who Remeslo is
Ilya Remeslo is known as a Putin supporter and as an opponent of Alexei Navalny and the FBK. In March, however, he published posts criticizing the Kremlin leader and the next day continued posting anti-war statements.
He was later reportedly hospitalized in a psychiatric facility. He spent 30 days there before being released.
Remeslo later gave an interview to Ksenia Sobchak in which he spoke about the hospitalization and said that his political position had changed.
