The Public Opinion Foundation said that over one week, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s job approval rating fell by five percentage points to 66%. The report says this is the steepest weekly decline in that indicator since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
According to the FOM survey conducted on July 10–12, trust in the president also declined, falling from 69% to 67%.
VTsIOM also reported a continued decline in Putin’s ratings. According to the center, between July 6 and 12, approval of Putin’s performance fell by 0.9 percentage points to 65.1%. Trust in him, by VTsIOM’s estimate, dropped by 1.3 percentage points to 71%.
In early July, VTsIOM had already recorded the fastest weekly decline in Putin’s trust rating since the start of the war. At that time, the figure fell by 1.8 percentage points.
Russian polling services, including FOM and VTsIOM, began noting a decline in the president’s ratings in spring 2026. At the time, this was linked, among other things, to internet restrictions and the blocking of Telegram.
According to the publication, the decline in the ratings continued amid a fuel crisis in Russia.
